SALT was conceived by parents who felt the need for such a system
when their kids were in school and the idea evolved out of that
need. The lack of an effective emergency contact system was
also underscored during the recent Katrina disaster. In this
era of technology, victims were using primitive methods like
missing person bulletin boards or storing contact information
on the palms of their hand etc.
The SALT founder thus set lofty goals of designing a modern,
cutting-edge system for addressing this need with free access
to this system to help all families including underprivileged
sections of the society. |

As the founder of SALT, Venky Chinnathambi is responsible for making the SALT dream a reality. Mr. Chinnathambi is a former Senior Principal with American Management Systems (AMS) and Executive Consultant (Director of Technology) with CGI Inc, where he spent over a decade in product and program management, advising and implementing large telecom companies and financial institutions on best practices on Customer Relationship Management, Customer Risk Management, telecom BSS/OSS solutions and technology solutions. Mr. Chinnathambi has also advised and implemented enterprise-grade applications with latest and evolving technologies for many fortune 100 companies.
