On-line Registration

The SALT registration process is a simple 2 stage process. In the first stage, users will need to enter their personal information including name, address, contact details and provide the User Name/Password that they would like to use to access the member area on the website. The SALT system will then send a confirmation email to the email address specified by the user during registration. Users can complete the second stage by clicking on the link provided in the confirmation email. The system will then display the generated SALT ID for the registered user. After this point, the registered members can change their profile, update their emergency contact network, add dependents etc. More details are provided below for each step of this process.

Stage 1 – Entering Personal Information

Step 1: Identify Yourself

Interested members need to provide their name and age information in this step. Users can also select a User Name and Password in this step.

Step 2: Address Details

Users will have to provide valid address details on this page. Address details are used for personal identification purposes as well as for some of the localized services provided by the system.

Step 3: Contact Information

Users will have to provide a valid email ID and a valid phone number for contact purposes. The automatic confirmation email from the system will be sent to the email ID specified in this page and it is essential that users provide a valid mail ID to complete the registration process successfully.

Stage 2: Accessing Member area

Users will be able to complete the registration process by clicking on the link provided in the confirmation email or by pasting the link in a browser window. After logging in, members will be directed to the ‘Member Area’. The ‘Member Area’ features the following top level links – My Family, Emergency Contacts, and Logout.

Member Area

This is the personal home page for logged in users. From this page, users will be able to navigate to every privileged screens. The member area is composed of two tabbed section “My Family” and “Emergency Contacts”. The details of these sections are below:

My Family

My Family->List Dependents

This is the homepage for members when they log into the ‘Member Area’. The homepage displays the user information along with their SALT ID. This page also displays the dependents for that member. Members can view/edit details for each person in the list by using the links provided on the right of each row in this list. Members can also upload a picture by using the Edit link and uploading an image file using the link provided on the Edit page.

My Family->Add a dependent

Members can add dependents through this link. This link is very helpful since it allows a registered member the ability to add multiple dependents and generate SALT IDs for them thereby obviating the need for each member to complete the registration process individually. While adding a dependent, members will have to specify whether the dependent is a responsible adult using the indicator field. For responsible adults, contact details will have to be provided.

My Family->Change Address

Users can modify the address details they had provided during registration using this link. This link allows users to keep their contact information updated.

Emergency Contacts

Emergency Contacts->Contact List

The emergency contact link is the page that allows members to manage their emergency contact network. Users can view and edit their emergency contact information using the links provided in this page.
The Contact List page displays the list of emergency contacts provided by the user. Each entry in the emergency contact list is displayed using the name provided and each entry has a priority assigned to it. The priority value helps in ordering the emergency contact network. The SALT system will retrieve contacts from the list in ascending order of priority value. So this is the section where users can specify which contact they would like the system to try first, second, third and so on. The 3 links provided on the right of each contact (View/Edit/Delete) allow modifications as well as removal of contacts.

Emergency Contacts->Add New Emergency Contact

This page allows addition of emergency contacts. Members will need to provide contact name, valid mail id and a valid contact phone number for each new contact they wish to add.
